De Xiaomi Redmi AirDots zijn een goedkopere variant op de Xiaomi AirDots. Die oordopjes werden wel direct onder de merknaam van Xiaomi zijn uitgebracht, in tegenstelling tot deze variant. De Redmi AirDots zijn True Wireless oordopjes. Dat betekent dat je voor het luisteren van muziek en het opladen van de oordopjes geen draad gebruikt.

Bluetooth 5.0 en fysieke knoppen

De Redmi AirDots zijn voorzien van Bluetooth 5.0. Dat is een stabielere vorm van Bluetooth, waarbij ook het bereik een stuk groter is dan bij eerdere versies. Het is volgens Xiaomi mogelijk om ca. 20 meter bij je telefoon vandaag te staan, zonder kwaliteitsverlies op te merken in de muziek. Het omgevingsgeluid wordt zoveel mogelijk geblokkeerd door de DSP, oftewel de ‘environmental noise reduction’ van de Redmi AirDots. De bediening van de oordopjes werkt via fysieke knoppen.

Batterijduur

De batterijduur van de Redmi AirDots is ca. 4 uur. Om de batterijduur te verlengen, krijg je er ook een oplaadcase bij. Die is voorzien van 300 mAh en zorgt ervoor dat je tot wel 12 uur naar muziek kunt luisteren. Om je batterij nog extra te besparen, maken de Xiaomi Redmi AirDots gebruik van Smart Energy. Dat betekent dat de oordopjes na 5 minuten worden uitgeschakeld als ze niet meer gebruikt worden. Ook schakelen ze uit wanneer je ze in de oplaadcase stopt.

Een interessante ontwikkeling is dat de Redmi AirDots een zwarte kleur gekregen hebben. Dat ziet er verfrissend uit, aangezien veel draadloze oordopjes tegenwoordig een witte kleur hebben.

    Fendo –

    Ik krijg op mijn Chromebook beide dots niet goed verbonden. Als ik ze synchroniseer stottert de muziek tussen beide dots. Als ik één dot koppel gaat het wel goed maar is niet de bedoeling. Op mijn Android Pocophone F1 heb ik geen problemen.
    De dots kunnen dus NIET gebruikt worden op een Chromebook.

    + PROS: Goed geluid. Koppelen gaat eenvoudig.
    - CONS: Niet te gebruiken op een Chromebook.
